Sheila Powers (nee Burchat) is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in the small community of Wilno in the Ottawa Valley.  She now resides in Arnprior and spends time at her summer retreat in Portage-du-Fort.  Her acrylic creations are usually very colourful with a folk art style. Sheila\\\’s works have been enjoyed by many including paintings created from her imagination to commissioned pieces of homesteads, old schools, churches and other areas of interest.  She has been featured in 3 provinces across Canada which are Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.  She has also attained clients as far away as Germany and New Zealand.   When not sitting at her easel in her studio she spends time scouting out her next point of interest.  Sheila also works in clay sculpting and sculpting from recycled materials.
