Description
Kenojuak was born in an igloo in a camp called Ikirasaq on Baffin Island. She was named after her wise gandfather. She grew up in a harsh environment but with that was raised in a hunter-gatherer culture where she saw clothing and domestic items handmade with great skill and that served her well. Later she would become the north’s master printmaker and her work would be famous throughout the world. This work is a tribute to great women who set high goals for themselves. This work is an encaustic mixed media collage on wood, 12″ x 12″ X 3/4″.
